About Me
Gemma Russell-Hills
I have been a private tutor of GCSE English for ten years now. I have an exceptional record of results, with the vast majority of my students attaining a 1-4 grade increase. This year saw some of my students leaping from grades 4/5 to a grade 8 and from grades 2/3 to grades 4/5; and several of them achieved straight 9's in both English Language and English Literature. I am a fully qualified English teacher with an `Outstanding` PGCE, a First Class Honours in English and an MA in English Renaissance Literature from a Russell group university. I have a real passion and enthusiasm for all aspects of English, and I have been studying and teaching the subject for a number of years now. In addition to my subject knowledge and qualifications, I am a friendly and approachable person, and can adapt easily to any situation. I have a very positive and encouraging approach, and will always go that extra mile for my students.
About My Tuition
I have opened a small tuition space in the heart of Chapel Allerton, Leeds. It provides students with a distraction-free environment, designed specifically for GCSE English. A plethora of exam practice papers and resources for every exam board (AQA, Eduqas, Edexcel, OCR, iGCSE) will always be available. My tuition is a little different to the traditional one-to-one set up. Each student still receives one-to-one tuition tailored specifically to their needs; however, there will be another 1 or 2 students in the room at the same time. This means that each student gets the time and space that they require when they are completing written tasks, helping them to feel more confident and creative - which is essential in English - as they don't have a tutor looking over their shoulder as they write.
